Business Analyst

Our scalable platform uses proprietary Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to accurately digitise documents into a readable format and then applies machine learning algorithms to scrutinise for compliance with international trading rules and regulations.

Job Description

The Business Analyst volunteer programme is designed to be an exciting and fulfilling entry into FinTech. As a business analyst volunteer, you will carry out a range of tasks from gathering and analysing data and presenting your findings to managers.

You will be required to work with clients and internal teams gaining an understanding of requirements to aid in the development of our products. You will also have the opportunity to use some of your time to pursue projects that you feel would be of benefit.

What will you be doing?

  • Working on a variety of interesting and challenging projects
  • Engaging with stakeholders of multiple levels across the business
  • Documenting As-Is and To-Be processes
  • Analysing business requirements
  • Producing business plans, project plans
  • Monitoring key performance indicators
  • Analysing functional requirements (reports, work instructions and logical data models)
  • Providing general operational support

Job Requirements

  • Penultimate year of 3 or 4-year course
  • Preferred Subjects: IT, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics
  • Excellent Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced Agile Teams
  • Good communicator and team player

Desirable

  • Previous experience in similar sectors

Scope

  • A commitment of 3 months
  • The role is based at Traydstream offices in London
  • Weekly allowance to cover travel costs

Traydstream’s is looking for a bright student / graduate to join our marketing team in London. Our volunteer programme is designed to give you a full insight into the real world of marketing and gain valuable experience.

As a marketing volunteer you will be exposed to all areas, from press releases to social media analysis. You will be communicating constantly with managers, journalists and clients. You will also have the opportunity to use some of your time to pursue projects that you feel would be of benefit.

Reports to: Software Development Manager/ Chief Development Officer/ Country Head

Key Responsibilities
Be responsible for establishing a technical application support and local IT infrastructure team
To drive these teams technically and assign work tasks on a day to day basis
Establish effective work processes and procedures conductive with and in line with good service management best practice
Provide initial 1st line technical support to clients to normal business hours then gradually on a rolling 24 * 7 basis, including the provision of emergency support
Lead the local platform application support team providing ensuring tickets are reviewed on a regular basis and responded to in a timely and comprehensive fashion as per service levels
Support and lead the transfer of application knowledge from the development partner team
Establish and evolve good working practices, processes and procedures for such Knowledge Transfer
Ensure that the core applications plus interfaces; OCR Engine, Trade Rules, Compliance, Workflow and User Interface performance is monitor effectively and take appropriate timely action to reduce outages and client impacts, applying the same for common components such as ETLs and APIs.
Lead the deployment of new software upgrades into client UAT, Production and DR environments
Support and lead the establishment and provisioning of new infrastructure solutions as required from time to time by development partner teams
Lead the deployment of new infrastructure upgrades into client UAT, Production and DR environments, and testing environments as required, allowing for on-premise installations as required.

Experience

Essential
8-9 years technically leading an application support and/or IT infrastructure support team
Docker containers with Swarm and Bitbucket code repository or similar
Detailed working knowledge of Angular, Java, Python and supporting frameworks, Ubuntu/Linux, Mongo DB and/or Maria DB (SQL)
Hands on experience of leading IT application teams, ideally at a Bank and/or Private Cloud or AWS
Ability to communicate technical problems in a business-like way
Passion, drive, energy and an ability to think outside the box

Desirable
ITIL based certification on service management, application management and IT Operations management
Evidence of transfer of knowledge best practice from development teams to support teams.
Knowledge of advanced technologies such as soft robotics and machine learning
Knowledge of Trade Finance or at least Financial Services

Key Responsibilities
Be responsible for local development & support of the core platform
To pick and resolve tickets through Fresh Service and resolve these within Service Levels. If not resolvable then escalated the ticket to Level 2 Support.
Progress work tasks on a day to day basis as assigned by the team leader
Use established work processes and procedures conductive with and in line with application management best practice
Provide initial 1st line technical support to clients to normal business hours then gradually on a rolling 24 * 7 basis, including the provision of emergency support
Ensure regular acquisition and transfer of application knowledge from the wider development team
Ensure that the core applications plus interfaces; OCR Engine, Trade Rules, Compliance, Workflow and User Interface plus Data Analytics Engine performance is monitor effectively and take appropriate timely action to reduce outages and client impacts, applying the same for common components such as ETLs and APIs.
Support packaging and deployment of new software upgrades into client UAT, Production and DR environments
Support the provisioning of new infrastructure solutions as required from time to time by the wider development team
Lead the deployment of new infrastructure upgrades into client UAT, Production and DR environments, and testing environments as required, allowing for on-premise installations as required.

Experience

Essential
6-8 years technically as part of a Level 1 or 2 application support/development team
Docker containers with Swarm and Bitbucket code repository or similar
Detailed working knowledge of Angular, Java, Python and supporting frameworks, Ubuntu/Linux, Mongo DB and/or Maria DB (SQL). Pentaho knowledge is desirable.
Agile development or similar, and ability to provide good quality documentation
